Our services for Stage 1 are designed to be completely flexible so we can tailor what we do to meet the individual needs of each client and project.

Well planned and properly detailed designs will ultimately help to ensure your project is completed on schedule and within budget. Having a good set of plans will reduce the likelihood of unexpected delays during any planning application, and furthermore they clearly demonstrate the standard expected for the finish.

We tailor our planning & design services to meet the needs and budget of our clients from one project to the next. We can produce basic 2D designs for simple works and planning applications, right through to detailed and rendered 3D models where a client wishes to be able to fully visualise the design on paper.

At dam, we are able to differentiate ourselves at the planning stage because we also undertake Building Regulations stage work in-house. This means that we can ensure both design, engineering and specifications are aligned throughout, so that you don’t find out you’ve been given impractical and cost inefficient designs after planning consent has already been approved on a particular design.

The Buildings Regulations are a set of minimum standards which most building and renovation projects must adhere to – this is a legal requirement. In addition, your project may need other consents, such as Party Wall Agreements or Sewer Build Over Agreements. At dam, we are able to undertake all work needed at this stage, and where necessary, we can source independent external experts on your behalf and where required.

At dam, because we undertake both planning stage and building regulations stage work in-house, if our client wishes, we can fast track the overall process by bringing forward work and completing it during the planning stage. This means that we can get to the point of starting the build sooner, which in some cases may prove crucial to completing your build on a fast-track basis.

Understanding which is the ‘right’ build offer to choose should be far more involved than just finding the cheapest price. This will be one of the most important and valuable decisions of your project and at dam we are here to help you make the right choice, for the right reasons.
